Build trust, reassurance & recruit the right team

Bespoke video and photography for contractors, engineers and manufacturers. No CGI stand-ins, no staged awkward shots and minimum disruption to your day.

The problem

Your website, brochures and bids need to show how good you are

But you are stuck with three bad options.

Stock, renders and CGI

Clients have seen it before. A render of a building that is not yours, an illustrated door, a stock worker in a clean hard hat, each in a different style. It's an inconsistent mess. It does not show your sites, your people or your standard, and it does not make anyone think, "I trust them to do the job and get it right first time."

Commissioned shoots that still miss the mark

Many photographers and videographers have never worked on a live site. They need a lot of direction, they don't understand the how, where and why of the job, and they can't get your people to relax in front of a camera. What comes back looks staged and could be anyone's, so it does nothing to set you apart.

Staff photography or video

Your site teams are doing their best, but they are installers, not photographers. The pictures come back badly composed, cluttered or staged, sometimes with a safety issue in shot. You cannot put them in a tender, and you definitely cannot use them on your homepage.

You know you need professional content, but you're worried about budget, site access and how your team will react.

What happens when your photography and video don't match the quality of your work and team?

The common problem

"We deliver complex projects on time, to the highest standard."

An example of the weak, generic picture the section warns against

The job was delivered, but the picture shows none of the standard the words promise.

The Workshots approach

"We deliver complex projects on time, to the highest standard."

Joseph Gallagher engineer on the HS2 tunnel works

Real work at real scale, captured so the picture proves what the words claim.

Clients, main contractors and bid panels often look you up before you're ever shortlisted. Your words can say quality, safety and scale, but if the pictures look small, dated, or don't show your safety awareness, they don't back those words up.

Your bids aren't reinforced. Your case studies don't make the most of the work you've delivered. Your team has to work harder to make the case, because the pictures aren't pulling their weight.

Meanwhile, many of your competitors have invested in proper photography and video. Their work looks the part. Yours doesn't do you justice.

The result?
  • Bids that aren't reinforced
  • Case studies that undersell the work
  • Less reassuring than you could be
  • Dated first impressions
  • Harder to attract the right staff
  • Paying for a second shoot

The gap between what you deliver and what you show isn't helping you win work.

When the words say quality, safety and scale, the pictures and video have to prove it

The solution

Site-aware production, with confident creative direction

Brief once. We work to your site rules and get the shots.
Seb Chandler photographing a quarry crusher on site

Twenty-three years of professional photography and video, on live sites, in factories and underground. Work selected for Lürzer's Archive and 200 Best Ad Photographers Worldwide.

We understand the constraints. Inductions, RAMS, PPE and permits. A programme that can't stop for a camera. People who would rather not be photographed. We plan around all of it, and on the day we give clear, confident direction, so your people relax quickly and the work keeps moving.

  • Website imagery and video, that shows your real projects, not renders
  • Tender and bid material, that reinforces what your submissions say
  • Recruitment content, that helps you attract the right staff
  • A consistent look, that works across every site and division
  • Social and PR assets, ready when a project completes or an award is shortlisted
  • Fast turnaround, with your library lightly retouched and ready to use within 1 to 5 working days

We turn one shoot into years of content

Photography and video on the same day, or a focus on just one. Scoped to your priorities and channels.

Video is no longer a nice extra. Clients, bid panels and the people you want to hire expect to see your team and your projects in action, not just read about them.

But most teams don't have the time or the skills to produce professional video on top of the day job, and phone footage rarely shows the standard of the work.

We can shoot photography and video together, so you get both from one visit to site. One plan, one look, and a library your team can use across your website, bids, social media and recruitment for years.

Is your content a cost or an investment?

Approached strategically, one production day gives your team a ready-to-use library across your website, bids, social media and recruitment. And because the day is planned around your sites and your business, you get more usable content with less disruption, not a trade-off between the two.

The process

A simple process built around live sites

1
Discovery Call

Ten minutes on what your content needs to do, who needs to see it, and whether you want photography, video or a combination.

2
Planning and Logistics

We run through the site logistics that matter: inductions, access, PPE, permits and anything unusual about the site. Then we build the shot list with you, so we know exactly what's needed, where and why.

3
The Shoot

We work safely to your site rules and around the shot list, with clear, confident direction that gets your people relaxed quickly. We capture the real work, not staged scenes, and plan around your programme.

4
Delivery

A full library of edited stills, clips and longer pieces, organised by job: website, tenders, social, recruitment, PR. Ready to use.

This is for you if:
  • You need content for marketing or bids at a contractor, engineer or manufacturer
  • Your website and tenders need pictures of your real projects, not renders
  • Your company has grown and the pictures have not caught up
  • You want someone you can trust to give clear, confident direction and get your people relaxed quickly
  • You need video but do not have the time or skills in house
  • You want one look across every site and division
  • You have just started and the shoot has landed on your desk
This is NOT for you if:
  • You're looking for the cheapest day rate
  • You're not ready to invest in professional content
  • You want a quick phone shoot with no plan
  • You only need one picture for one post

Frequently asked questions

How much does a shoot cost?

It depends on the job it needs to do: photography, video or both, one site or several, a quick social set or a brand video for the website. A ten-minute discovery call is enough for us to give you a clear quote.

Do we need to send someone round site with you?

Not necessarily. It depends on your site rules. Once we're inducted, and where the rules allow, we can work around the site on our own, safely and to the agreed shot list, so nobody on your team is tied up. Where the site needs an escort, one point of contact on your side is enough.

Can you shoot on a live site?

Yes. We work to your inductions, RAMS and PPE rules, and plan around the programme and anything that is off limits. Where a live area cannot be shot safely or compliantly, we agree an alternative in advance.

Can you fly a drone?

Yes, subject to permissions, airspace and weather. Where the site rules mean we start outside the perimeter, we plan the shots around that.

Our site teams hate having their photo taken. Is that a problem?

It is the norm, not the exception. I am very used to people not wanting to be photographed, and I am good at putting them at ease quickly and getting them involved. By the end of the day they are usually fully part of it. We keep it quick, show people the shots, and never hold anyone up for long. Soilfix wrote afterwards that even some of the grumpy site staff seemed to enjoy the day.

I am new in the role and need this signed off. Can you help?

Yes. After the call we send a short summary of the scope and the options, laid out so your MD or board can see what is involved, and we talk the cost through with you on a call.

Can you cover several sites or divisions?

Yes, with one look across all of them, so the whole business reads as one brand.

What if we just need photography, or just video?

That is fine. We scope every job around what you need. There is no pressure to add anything you are not ready for.

Are you ready for your content to stop being a cost and become an investment?

Start with a discovery call. We will talk about your projects, where the content needs to work, and what it needs to do for tenders, clients and recruitment. No obligation. No hard sell. Just a conversation to see if we are a good fit.
